Commenting, Alp Mehmet, Chairman of Migration Watch UK, said:

2020 has been an extraordinary year and any fall in immigration has not been due to change in policy, but restrictions all around the world on travel and work resulting from the pandemic. It would be entirely wrong to rely on these statistics as a basis for decisions on future immigration policy.
Indeed, with unemployment set to rise to 2.6 million next year, it is a huge mistake to press ahead with plans to give employers the freedom to bring in as many workers as they like from abroad without having even to advertise jobs first in the UK.
